Title: 28mm Soviet- where should I be looking?

Evening,
Got some Black Tree Design Soviets. Where else should I be looking? Similar size preferable!

Hi Jim
My army is 90% BTD but I have mixed in a few others
Warlord games metals work OK so I added some of their scouts (see thread below on Soviet Border Guards) and their lovely Assault Engineers, mortars etc
I also added a few Artizan but they are noticeably slimmer so be careful the occasional one is OK but if you had a whole unit of em next to a BTD unit it might stand out.
The only ones I have not tried is Crusader they look chunky enough to mix in but their style of sculpting may not?
and The Assault Group do a limited but interesting range that I have not seen in person
West Wind do some but I think they are 1/60th but it might be worth trying some of their new separate Heads System ones as I have heard they are bigger?

I've mixed Crusader and some Warlord with Black Tree soviets in my tank rider platoon (couple of threads down) and they fit size wise pretty well. The weapons on the Black tree figures are a bit chunkier and the detailing is a bit finer but you don't really notice once they are given a unifying paint job. I've mixed them in units rather than have separate units of different manufacturers and I'm pretty happy with the result.

Good to know WP - not that I need any more Soviets as I have 5 Sections of summer uniform infantry , 1 Pioneers,  1 Assault Engineers, 2 Scouts , 1 NKVD sections but you never know just out of interest which are the Crusader figs in your piccies, they all seem to match pretty well to myeye

Thanks WP the Crusader look a betyter match for BTD than Artizan.
Was intending getting osme of their German Cavalry might have to pick up some Russsina SMG and turn my SMG section into an SMG tank rider plt  lol
