Set of the North Star French and Indian Highlanders Force + 1 reinforcement pack. First set of mini's I've painted with tartan. I think they turned out OK. If you ignore some of the squares being different sizes or even rectangles. I did have trouble painting the lace on the ones wearing coats. The detail is really fine there and I just went with table top quality. My only complaint on the minis are the muskets. They are sculpted with over sized ramrods.

Completely unacceptable. You should be ashamed, oh, and send them to me so you don't have to look at them anymore... lol lol lol
Ha, ha! Just kidding, of course. Those are awesome! I don't think I could do as well on the stockings of 54mm highlanders. You have nothing to be ashamed of, sir! I'd welcome those on my tabletop any day!

They look great.
Just remember on the table looking at them
from three feet away, all the other players will say, Wow.

The stockings were harder to paint than the tartan. Luckily most of these guys have the indian leggings.

They look rather splendid.
Never mind the ramrods, I say.

Very nicely done. The tartan looks top notch.

Splendid :)

Lovely, great brushwork ;D

Very nicely done. Do you have plans to add to them?

They are bloody marvelous mate. There is truly something beautiful about a Hielan man in traditional garb mixed up with clothing from the Natives.

I have warlord's Wee Wullie figure that I might paint up. It's slightly smaller than the North Star figures so I skipped painting it. I might get a few minis of the Eureka Highlanders (piper officer, sergeant) if EurekaUSA ever restocks them. Otherwise I'm painting other FIW stuff next.

Glad to hear you have more for the period, hope to see them in due course.
I thought that Warlord figure fitted pretty well with these, or well enough for me anyway.

Thanks ya'll
Thought I'd add this great song about Duncan Campbell and Ticonderoga. Piper's Refrain played by Mile 22 Music.
