I noticed a discussion on that topic over on TMP. It prompted me to update a map I had started years ago, and which I have now posted to Flickr for those who might be interested:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/9593487@N07/albums/72157672457119536
It's been so long since I posted here that I've forgotten how to post links.
Anyway, enjoy!
PS. I didn't label each of the buildings, as some of them could be for more than one use. Also, the map is not exactly to scale.

great find...Thanks

As for relative size of the buildings ... a starting point could be what I was able to estimate from this production shot of the large arched building next to the church:
(https://yooniqimages.blob.core.windows.net/yooniqimages-data-storage-resizedimagefilerepository/Detail/10235/57a1184a-5e42-4a00-9a3d-d50f9101e443/YooniqImages_102358041.jpg)
50’ wide
35’ deep (guess, when compared to other photos)
16’ tall (to top of parapet)
8.5’ door height
5’ door width
12’ ceiling height
10’ height of arches
Once you use the arched building's dimensions, you can guess some of those for the church:
20’ tower, from bottom of bell platform
7’ tower width
27’ tower, to top of bell section
9’ door height to top of arch
7’ door width
If one was converting it for use with 18mm tall figures (from bottom of base to top of head), 3mm to a foot should do just fine.
By the way, here's a rare but interesting view of the huts at the far eastern side of the village:

Hi guys!
I went ahead and posted a map with a superimposed square grid pattern over the village:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/9593487@N07/albums/72157672457119536
This is the transparent graph paper grid I used:
https://openclipart.org/detail/239690/configurable-graph-paper
And here are some transparent hex grids, if you prefer to make one of your own using hexes instead:
https://openclipart.org/detail/15861/hex-grid-for-roleplaying-game-maps
https://openclipart.org/detail/15862/hex-grid-for-roleplaying-game-maps-1
Enjoy!
NOTE: You can even superimpose the transparent graph paper grid over objects in photos to get relative scales, just like I did to the front of the arched building here:

https://flic.kr/p/KwWBaw
That's how I came up with these dimensions for the arched building for gaming with based 15mm figures. The dimensions for the floor and roof sections are 5.89” (149.6mm) by 4.16” (105.6mm):
https://www.flickr.com/photos/9593487@N07/29209818365/in/album-72157672457119536/
And this one is for 18mm, with the floor/roof dimensions at 6.38” (162.1mm) by 4.51” (114.6mm):

By the way ... all this month of November "The Magnificent Seven" is playing on STARZ HD channels!
-
Guys, check out this movie art I found:

link (https://insidetherockposterframe.blogspot.com/2016/10/the-magnificent-seven-poster-and-steve-mcqueen-print.html)
It's not a photo, of course, but it's pretty darn close.

Excellent
Have you ever worked out the relative size of the opposing forces?
-
Would 40 bandidos be too many? Too few?
-
40 works out at c.6 per man (not couting friendly peons). Sounds about right.
-
Now the big question is where to find 40 bandidos in 15mm, mostly on foot. :)
Dan
-
Peter Pig?
-
Good information. I love that movie :D
-
Warlord Frod: “Good information. I love that movie”
I hope it proves useful to fans of the film who might be looking to replay the scenario on the tabletop.

Dan, 15 mm bandidos are going to be tough beyond the Peter Pig offerings. Not a lot out there wearing proper sombreros - though I thought there was a recent addition to a range but danged if I can remember. Might also check around in the various QRF 19th Century ranges, several set in Mexico. Minifigs used to have - and may still - a pack of six mounted and dismounted cowboys, some might work. The Old Guy in the Magnificent movie might be adapted from Peter Pig's priest in the Mexican section of the Old West figures.

Two years ago I used Cacique's map to make my own town from the movie.
Posted the project here somewhere but here is a teaser.
-
Thanks again Cacique for he map! Made all the difference in bringing my project together.
-
Are you kidding! That was just a piece of paper. YOU are the one who brought the map to life!
-
I remember that thread princeman. I am the one guilty of encouraging you to build the hills.
-
That looks great!
-
Thanks guys. Cacique - your 'piece of paper' saved me many hours (and my wife) of watching the movie over and over. So thanks again. FifteensAway - your suggestion was spot on and finished it off perfectly. So thanks again to all of you.

One thing that always got me, was how few houses their were for so many villagers,
-
Most of those villagers lived on their outlying farms and walked into town, of course! Back in the day, a five mile walk was nothing - each way. Except for the shoe leather wearing out. :D

As one of the crazy people who has watched every scene of this film multiple times in order to recreate a map of the buildings around the plaza, I can tell you that the majority of the peasant dwellings seem to have been located to the south side of town. There are lots of glimpses of those outlying huts throughout the film, along with their unique giant clay granaries.
You can see a tiny bit of the huts and thatched clay granaries on the background here:

And when Calvera is finally shot behind that building, around 1 minute into this next clip, you can see the peasant huts even better:

Well, I’ve actually saved your topic in my favorites and will keep going back to it when the moment comes for me to build my 15mm version of the town:

I am honored!

Remember if you play the final battle, there are 50 Mexican bandits. So after the "Seven" kill 52 of them (Yeah count them), The most dangerous bandit comes into play. The "off camera Mexican sniper". The OCMS kills 3 of the seven. We put that into our game as a hard to save not so random event, to give it the Hollywood" feel.
-
Leadfool
I’m glad you counted them! That’s something I never did. In fact, in an earlier assessment I thought 40 would be about right.

for a game you can always recycle them, we had them come out of houses randomly or ride in from off camera....board.
