Title: BBC News Video: Richard III's Death
Post by: Silent Invader on 23 August 2016, 10:54:21 AM
The title is somewhat overstated but interesting helmet cam footage of re-enactment chaps in WotR armour.

Very interesting! But i wonder where Richard got his Pollaxe from? I would imagine, that he would rather have used a sidearm like a sword or mace, when he was unhorsed.

Hmmmmm......  :?

My knowledge of the battle is not encyclopaedic, but I'm not convinced by that.

I though Richard had been unhorsed and chased to ground, surrounded and killed by some (i.e. more than one) Welsh billmen, not gently helped from his horse, given a pollaxe and escorted to the rear of his own lines to engage in a rather stilted exchange of blows with a single man-at-arms.

I also admit to a slight bias as a HEMA practitioner, as its really obvious to me that none of them are actually fighting!

I know, I know, its a re-enactment for entertainment purposes staged by volunteer amateurs, stop being harsh Bob.  lol

That said, I can't complain that someone is at least having a go at it and all their kit is accurate - take note BBC drama department!  >:(
