You might find these useful when trying to make terrain based on images from your favorite Sci Fi movies or tv shows ...
This is the transparent graph paper grid I already started to use on maps:

NOTE: You can even superimpose the transparent graph paper grid over objects in photos to get relative scales, just like I did to the front of the arched building here:
