Hi, on Sunday we put a demo game on at Partizan 2 and I have just added a post with details to the blog. Bagamoyo was particularly relevant as it was within 4 days of the 100th anniversary of the action. Hope you enjoy.

Definitely one of the most interesting games of the day. Inspired me to find time to take my own WW1 collection in a different direction. We kept finding our selves back at your game.

Cheers Mark, we intend to replay this very soon, glad you enjoyed it.

A good looking game :)
-
A splendid game all round, it is nice to see something other than the western front too.
-
I am looking to expand my collection for use in Palestine too.
-
Wow, love the terrain.
Lots of fine figures.
Like the big gun and the ships.
-
Palestine ,is definitely going to be my starting point I'll be taking a look at vehicles first most likely heading towards Egypt focusing on hit and run raids and Nile patrol boats just to have an excuse to make some boats.
I wish I'd had the time for a chat,it just turned out to be a very busy show.

Nice game, unfortunately the return trip from holiday prevented my attendance, got bags of Palestine/Iraq stuff if needed.
Cheers Ken

Thank you for sharing your demo game.

Very nice game!
-
Very nice- was impressed when I saw it on Sunday.
-
Thanks all, Ken may take you up on that at some point, nice to know it looked OK at 09.15 on the morning we were having a melt down due to large portions of the terrain being missing so pleased that no one noticed!
-
Roger, still looks as good as it did on Sunday! Fantastic. I wish I'd had time to stop for longer than a brief chat but great work by yourself and Chris. It's super to see non-trench/ western front games for WW1.
Which piece of terrain was missing? I really didn't notice (I've been there myself; mislaid King Arthur's bridge for the Battle of Camlann a few years ago and ended up driving back to Nottingham to get it; it felt worth it!) Loved the tembe, I shall have to make one myself.

Cheers James. The initial plan was 14 feet long with 2 feet depth of sea, 2 feet of beach and 2 feet of land including forests and savannah. The town, boma and most of the trenches being on the rear 2 feet. Al of this last 2 feet was left behind and initially it looked like our whole game would be 14 feet by 4 feet. As the terrain was a 3-4 hour round trip away going back to get it was not an option.
In the end we cut up one of the sea mats to create an extra 2 feet of sea and then used sand to add an extra 6-10 inches to the beaches so that the town and fortifications did not not look too close to the water. All's well that ends well but I did think Chris was going to need a lie down and stiff drink at one point!

Ha ha! Very ingenious. I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time. Since the Camlann bridge incident, I have taken to keeping checklists when taking a game to a show. Especially for terrain. No one will notice one unit of missing figures, but terrain is the killer!

A really interesting game. I particularly like the naval elements :-* : :-* :-*
Who made the gunboat ???
-
Gunboat was scratch built, I am afraid I don't know the chap. Chris "The Admiral" Charlton bought it with the superstructure built then bought and added all the part down to the rivets and painted it up.
