Nice report.
I've not read through the Marvel rules yet. I was interested about your comment that it should have a reward system to encourage playing within the character. (so for instance Cap. America would do Cap. America type things)
That's a cool thought. Anybody with ideas on how to implement that?

I'm not sure how you would do this but the session we played had a basic "kill" for Victory Points requirement. It seems to me that some of the good guys should have a requirement to take their opponents prisoner rather than kill them, especially if they are helpless.
This would not be appropriate for all characters, but it seems inappropriate for Captain America to kill a helpless opponent.

Totally agree!!
Playing within the character makes good sense to me. It would be important to me to play Cap different than say, Wolverine.
If not, why would one even use established characters?

I guess you played the "Survival" scenario from the rulebook? I know they use VPs for being "alive". Either way it is a super hero game. No one really dies in comics. Think of it as taking someone out of action as opposed to killing.
