Hi all,
I thought I share with you pictures of my first ever attempt painting some Victorian era Miniatures. I was given some Sets from Empress Miniatures depicting 1879 Anglo-Zulu War British. Compared to the Front Rank Figures I painted in the last few months, they are really slight and a lot more realistic in regards to poses and facial expressions. I just loved painting them. In particular the "Heroes of Rorke's Drift" Group, were my favourites.
I wanted to create a small Group of stubbon looking Defenders of Rorke's Drift and these figures represent that perfectly, in my opinion.
Please click on the links or visit my website for a lot more pictures of all the figures: http://www.sascha-herm.com/ (http://www.sascha-herm.com/)
Here is the whole squad: http://www.sascha-herm.com/AZW-Squad01.htm (http://www.sascha-herm.com/AZW-Squad01.htm)

Thank you for that Not sure why.... Seem to be working for me though ??? ;)

Oh my God - highlight of the week right there!
-
Excellent work. :)
Not sure about the eyes though. If you look at painters' that "don't do eyes" they seem to use a much thinner line.
Only a minor point though.

You are quite right :) I'm still experimenting with different ways... It's the first time I decided just to black line them and will try to adjust it a bit with the next batch ;)

Wonderful painting Sascha :-*
I've painted almost exactly the same batch of miniatures myself (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;su=user;u=577;cat=227)
They are small, but very beautifully sculpted caricatures - some of Paul's finest work I think.
You have done a really splendid job with them. Makes me want to get a few more out of the lead pile and paint some more right now! :)

Great work. Some of my favourite figures too. Would love to see you do the whole range!

Thank you guys :)
