Title: Must visit European wargaming and modelling conventions?
Post by: YPU on 02 September 2016, 06:50:12 PM
Having finally finished my formal education and discovering I can actually get by with self-employment and regular side jobs for colleagues has suddenly opened the option of more regular small trips around Europe. Assuming a bit of strategic travel planning and a low standard in hotels that is. For the past years I have always tried to ignore wargame and model building cons, and it's about time I change that.

So, in LAF's collective opinion, what are the most visit European cons? (Taking into account travel times from the Netherlands.  ::))

Those two were already on my agenda yea.   ::)

Actually are there any LAF meetups large enough to be worth hopping over?  :D

Crisis and Salute are a must see for you, I believe.

I've also heard nice things about a two day show in Hamburg called Tactica, but have not visited myself. Yet.
I think it is in february.

The above, and then there is (as it's technically in Europe too) Poldercon of course!  :D

Obviously  :D Which is going to be well worth it going by the things shown on this forum alone. We really should do LAF badges this year.

Now there's an idea...  :)

I did that many years ago during Games Days with a forum I moderated at the time. Great fun meeting the gamers behind the avatars...

Are you interested in WW2 and military vehicles ?   If so I can recommend several events worth attending in the UK  :)
