Visited a couple of interesting places on my recent vacation and took a LOT of pictures as usual. I just began sorting through them all today and posted the Westerplatte related pictures on my blog today for anyone interested in checking that out over at my blog:

Thanks for posting - didn't know about this and now after your photos and various wikipedia articles at least have an idea about it.
Seems like many of the 1939/40 battles were German surprise attacks were stopped with heavy casualties in the few instances where the defenders where willing to stand and fight.
