Title: Z War One help
Post by: Inkpaduta on 13 September 2016, 09:30:11 PM
I just noticed the new game Z War One. I would like to get the game but when I go to their site it only has
information ect about the game. Can anyone help me in finding where I go to actually buy the game?
Anyone know how much it costs? Thanks.

According to their Kickstarter campaign, they just sent a bunch pledges out for delivery. It looks like they have two waves of pledges to send and issues with a caster has depleted some of their stocks so several backers may have a further delay.

So probably won't be available at retail for another few months but I have no real idea as im not involved and didn't back it personally. Maybe try eBay in a week or so?

Thanks Johnno.

Wasn't sure if it was still in the kickstarter phase.

Not wanting to state the obvious but have you tried ebay? There is one up there now , and i have no connection to it.

I've played ZW1 three times so far ,enjoyed every game .

Zombicide figure used for scale

Hasslefree Not Dirty Harry and T.A.G. Squad Gunner used for scale. In the comic that comes with the game the figure with the shotgun is supposed to be a big broad guy . In the second picture the figure with the gas mask is hunched over so is shorter than he would be

I've got the metal figures.   They don't seem to be consistently scaled, some are bigger than others, more than body shape differences would account for in my opinion.

Having said that, they are close enough for me.

If you want to have a look at the rules ,here's a link

www.1clickprint.com/zwar/rulebook.pdf

The games very simple and similar to Dead Walk Again . Every character gets 4 AP per turn that can be spent on a variety of actions .One nice touch is that everything you to know is on a players character card ,which is quite large approximately twice the size of the Zombicide character sheets. Zombies move as you'd expect in a game like this .One unusual thing they can do in this game is open doors ! You get 18 zombie miniatures in the game which didn't seem many when compared to zombicide and others ,but we discovered that there were more than enough to deal with.
We soon discovered that ammo is in very short supply in this game ,when a weapon empties you lose it ,there's no spare ammo .
My 1 complaint was that the squares that cover the boards are ,i think 20mm ,which means you cant use larger based figures from other games on these nice map boards.
Overall this was fun and simple and everyone who played it enjoyed it, including the guy who generally complains about all the other zombie games we've played .

Thanks Dexter,

This looks like a fun game and not hard to learn. Something I very much like.
Once it is available to the mass public I will likely get this.
