Title: Pulp Alley: Sally 4th Tomb of the Serpent Campaign
Post by: Chris Abbey on 28 September 2016, 02:55:21 PM
On Monday, Lewis and I started to play the new Pulp Alley campaign, Tomb of the Serpent.

The first scenario saw Manfred, veteran of Perilous Island traveling to The Netherlands in search of an ancient Egyptian relic, The Wings of Celerity, which had been troubling his dreams.

Hot on his heels were the Servants of Apothis led by a Serpent Priest and packing a mighty punch with four well armed Militant Cultists.

We have added a full After Action Report to our Hobby Blog: http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Hobby-Pages/The-Thing-in-the-Well (http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Hobby-Pages/The-Thing-in-the-Well)

We have also put together, what we hope will be a useful Tomb of the Serpent page which brings together rules, cards, terrain and figures from a number of ranges that we stock that we think are particularly suited to this campaign http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Tomb-of-the-Serpent-Campaign (http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Tomb-of-the-Serpent-Campaign)

We like to think of it in Pulp Alley terms as a 'Reward' for having overcome the perils and challenges involved with getting the stuff across the Atlantic, rescuing it from Customs & Excise, picking, packing and getting ready every one else's goodies.

We also thought that before we  put our hands on our hearts and said that this is the best thing to hit your gaming tables since the invention of the D6, we had best test it (on your behalf), because we're good like that.

... so, we can now say without any doubt, this is a great product and will bring much excitement and entertainment to gamers throughout the multi-verse.

Nothing like over egging the excuse pudding!   lol

As for testing I'd like to start my own testing, roll on the 13th

Last Monday, Lewis and I played the second scenario in our Tomb of the Serpent Campaign.
This episode sees Professor Snow traveling to a remote (and haunted) Fothrington Hall, in the Scottish Highlands on the trail of an ancient Egyptian artifact.

Unfortunately, all does not go well for Snow and his chums....

In fact, it does not go well indeed, only one man is left standing at the end of this encounter and Snow has not discovered a single clue to help him in his quest.

Read all about Snows disaster on our Hobby Blog: http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Hobby-Pages/Hobby-Blog/Pulp-Alley-AAR-Tomb-of-the-Serpent-Episode-2-The-Haunted-House (http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Hobby-Pages/Hobby-Blog/Pulp-Alley-AAR-Tomb-of-the-Serpent-Episode-2-The-Haunted-House)

Awesome stuff!! Really looks great. Haunted hall was a toughy, it was really good fun, but definitely a challenge.

Yes, Pulp Alley is the that sort of game that is great fun, even if you are slaughtered. Good job Blythe was still on his feet to drag his comrades to safety before the whole house went up in flames!

In keeping with the horror theme of the campaign, some of the scenarios are designed to be quite challenging. Have fun and enjoy the horror.  lol

Last night, Ann & I played the Dark Truths scenario from Tomb of the Serpent.

This saw our leagues searching for clues within a busy museum in the heart of Cairo. Represented, of course by the Sally 4th Exotic Location Set.

Indeed, everyone in the family secured a relic apart from me, as my league got slaughtered in the haunted house, which is so ironic as I designed Fothrington Hall! Never mind, plenty more scenarios left in the book.

Last night Doug and I played a scenario from Pulp Alley Tomb of the Serpent campaign. Doug is fielding a German league, based on DAK, so feeling the chill on this mission to retrieve an ancient relic from an ancient churchyard. Full after action report to follow, but here are a few photos for a start.

Here's an overview of the terrain, which is built using our Terra-Former system (http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Terra-Formers (http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Terra-Formers))

Doug's League deploys and start's moving through the graveyard towards the statues. Doug's league took 'Altar' as a perk so picked up a couple of local supporters to bulk out his force. The scenario event gave him a third follower. These are easily identified as they are the nun, verger and church caretaker and are not wearing DAK uniforms, (although the nun could of course be 'Jerry' in disguise).

I rolled for the Servants that are providing the opposition and got a Serpent Priest, four Militant Cultists and one Fierce Cultists. They set up around the Church, which is the model from our British Range. http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/epages/950003459.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950003459/Products/306 (http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/epages/950003459.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950003459/Products/306)

Last night Doug and I played the 4th Scenario in Pulp Alley - Tomb of the Serpent campaign.

The scenario played was Sideshow of Horrors, which saw my French Foreign Legion league searching for an ancient relic in a traveling carnival. Full report to follow in a couple of days, but for now here's a couple of shots of the carnival site, before chaos breaks out!

No, I have designed kits for them, based on a 1930's design.
I plan to release them next week, just need to write the instructions.

That is a great little table setup!

Very glad to hear the bear got a chance to savage someone, I'm going to file the idea of an animal pen as a Extremely Perilous area away for future use.

Great to hear, really keen to add some caravans to my fledgling terrain setup. It would appear my impending order to Sally4th keeps getting put back though as it grows larger and larger every time I scan the site or read one of your posts  lol
