Title: Landschnekt Orc Musketeer
Post by: Svennn on 05 February 2009, 08:47:17 PM
Is there anybody who hasn't bought any of these from Dave Thomas? Picked some up at York last Sunday. Took a lot longer than I would have liked - think I should have painted 5-10 of my Chinese instead.

I would imagine landschnekts are always time-consuming, but ya gotta love these old Foundry orcs.  Nice job.

Yeah - me.
My hatred for Warhammer-look orcs is only surpassed by my hatred for zombies.

Now the Perry GW LOTR orcs and uruk-hai - that's a different matter.  ;)

Interesting choice of colours. The skintone is quite unusual. I like his brightly coloured clothes.
But why the heck is he carrying a moon faced puppet? o_o

Besides, it's spelled "Landsknecht" (literally: servant of the land); as a crib: the English "knight" is a descendant of the German word "Knecht". Whereas "landschnekt" resembles the German "Schnecke" (snail), which by accident is also colloquial for a cute girl... :D
