Title: Homebrew Pulp Greens
Post by: W.B.Kurgan on February 01, 2007, 09:59:30 AM
Well there is the beginings of Pulp interest in my local group. One of them (Nethrag) has ordered some of Bob Murch's finest and the .45A rules in PDF form.

Another one (Blessed Knight) has scratch built these rather lovely looking Pulp villains!

I'm hoping he'll get a few casts done by Amazon Miniatures in Salford.

Me too! I was getting worried. They made some interested noises to begin with but then went quite...

I don't think you'll be able to get metal masters done up from it. I think the plasticard will melt during the prcess. You may be able to get resin versions done though.

Okay, this is really not ready to be shown and it's not a great picture, but I'm in the mood to post something.  :D

I received a green from a sculptor and was not happy with how some of it looked (the things I disliked were not evident in the images I received). And since I had been planning on trying my hand at sculpting anyway, I shaved down all the stuff I didn't like and set to work trying to recreate what I wanted.

Now, all the gray stuff on the sculpt, along with the nose, were done by me. I still have alot more work to do and I have to shave down the hair to fix the head shape, but here's a first look at my sculpting attempt. The arm and torso were also shaved down but I have not finished building it back up yet.

That's looking pretty good so far Rich!
What kind of character is it going to be?

The character is Mo. You've actually seen an image of him several times if you look at some Member icons. He is an ex-heavyweight boxer and will be one of the main characters in The Gargoyle: Death Soldiers of the Jade Hood.

In case you are curious, Mo was a character from a short story I wrote a year or two back. Rich really liked the character and asked if he could put him into the Gargoyle book. I was thrilled to have a character I created become a miniature, to say the least.

Thanks for posting the pics WB

These models are the first i'd done 100%. previously i'd use arms, heads etc from other miniatures.

only done 1 head in green stuff before these.

They are going to be used for villans lead by Evil Barry Twinkletoes. (in the dress)
and Kurt (with the monacle)

they were made on a plastic armature with swords attached. Once i get a batch of cork, i'll move onto metal armatures. :)

our gaming group just needs to work out where to play this now...

Nippy's house!    It's in the town centre, so everyone can get there. He has a table. Zeph and Nethrag have both played games there before.
What more do we need?  :D

Have to have a word with you about character names.....
