This is Jarl Letty - a new Bad Squiddo release.
I tried to get as many slightly different shades of black in as I could, whilst keep them all very definitely black and not grey or brown. Not easy ... and frankly I think they all look the bloody same anyway. I'm still undecided about the little bit of snow on the cloak ... it seemed like a good idea at the time but now I'm not sure. Anyhoo, here she is in her mounted and foot version glory.

I hands down love it! Makes me feel cold just looking at her! I seriously need to place an order with Annie in the near future
-
wonderful!
I'd like to see it in a comparison pic, to grasp how little the character is! :)

She's not miniscule, but kind of shoulder-height to the shieldmaiden I also painted for Annie at the same time, so appropriate for either just a short woman or a child of ten or so.
PS - I haven't got the models any more, Annie does - I'm not just being obstructive!
-
From what I see the snow on the cloak looks fine. Nice work! :)
-
Wonderful brushwork.
:-* :-*
I just wish that I could one shade of black to look as good......

Great model and really nicely painted. Thanks for sharing. I think Annie will be getting some of my money soon
-
What a great miniature (and paintjob too). Really like how subtle it is.
That's going on my "to get" list, when I finish the Squiddo minis I already have around.
-
Nice figure, love the character you managed to get from your paint job!
thanks

Personally, i'd go with a little snow, it might work splendidly!

Stunning indeed!!!! Have to get one!

Superb miniatures and paint job

Thanks guys, I know it's not the most eye-catching of paintjobs but ... when she needs to be head-to-toe in black it doesn't give a lot of wiggle room for colours!
I do like understated miniatures and these ones are real corkers, especially the mounted version. That fur cloak and quilted jacket could belong to a massive range of periods and genres, fantasy and historical, and with a bit of variety in the paintjob, she could be anything from eight to eighty years old. She's a hugely versatile lady this one.

On the contrary, when black is done well like that it is tremendously eye-catching.
-
That's lovely. Great tonality in the blacks and feels cold.
-
Cubs, great mini and painting, CONGRATULATIONS! :-*
And CONGRATULATIONS to Bad Squiddo Games as well! I think that releasing both mounted and foot versions of a character is one of the cornerstones of a great company! ;)

Love the horse paint job too.

Love the horse paint job too.
Thanks - my least favourite colour schemes are pure black and pure white and I got landed with both! I just had to keep going over and over the top areas with diluted white paint to get a smooth but very definitely white (as opposed to light grey) finish.
-
absolutely lovely figure and a tremendous job on that black!
Cheers
