Hi
Can I ask if anyone has the PSC WW1 and what you think of them? I have only just seen them and they look OK in the pics and as I am floundering around looking for a project these along with the Peter Pig rules are a possible choice. It's a golden age for miniature gaming and as nothing has appeared in 28mm this may be my only chance for WW1.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I backed the Great War boardgame on KickStarter and got a heap of these miniatures. Got some more when I backed the follow-up Tanks campaign.
They are pretty good quality miniatures rendered in hard plastic which seems to take paint pretty well. The base sets offer a reasonable variety of poses. The only thing to really watch is that the mold vents (is that the right term?) are on the end of the bayonets for the British so if you're not careful (and sometimes even if you are) bayonets can be snapped off when they're removed form the sprue. Other then that - no real worries.
The sprues come with HMGs and trench mortars and crews and there are separate artillery sprues with field guns and crew. There is also a set of eight metal generals - one for each major protagonist nation in WWI.
Note that there are currently only late war (i.e. helmeted) British and German plastic miniatures currently available. The next release is thought to be the French. Not sure if there are plans to go early war or add things like cavalry but the Tanks rulebook does mention engineers as being something that will be released in the future.
Overall, I'd recommend them as worth a look.

Thanks for that Muz....I may get a box to have a look...though how to paint 15mm may remain a mystery.
PSC usually produce sets in multiple scales (I maybe wrong) so is there hope that these sets will appear in 28mm?

No worries at all.
As these miniatures were produced for a boardgame I'd not hold my breath for 20mm or 25/8mm Great War miniatures from PSC.
If you're not in a huge hurry it might be worth waiting for the launch of the French (supposed to be later this year but I'd expect it to be early next year) KS campaign - might have some better pricing points & etc. Base price for 48 miniatures (inc. HMGs and 3 trench mortars) is GBP15.
One thing I neglected to mention is that there aren't really any good miniatures for junior officer/company commanders (i.e. guys with pistols doing officer stuff like waving troops on or pointing at things or reading a map) on the sprues. Then again by this stage a lot of junior officer had taken to carrying rifles and looking as inconspicuous as possible so this may or may not influence your decision to give these guys.

I may wait and just badger PSC to produce these in 28mm. Although backed up with some P Pig stuff they may be ok.

AFAIK PSC have never done any 28mm stuff, although they do 20mm. It is hard to see why they would suddenly start now.

Those were the first and the last sets in 28mm like that you're likely to see from PSC ever. His 15mm stuff outsells everything by miles so that gets priority.

Oh, I bribe him every year at Crisis with stroopwafels (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroopwafel) to get some intel on the release plans for the next year, but there is only so much he is willing to tell :) I really would not hold out for 28mm releases from him though, 15mm is his bread and butter. And tbh, 15mm isn't harder (or easier) to paint them 28mm, and you are able to get more varied stuff on the table, maybe even a nice trench board if you like? Battlefront does those premade even. It won't neccesarily be cheaper though. lol
