The handsome looking K '47 event at MOAB lured me in, even after me swearing off army scaled games. Hoping to work through what I've got while waiting for the rest of my army to arrive. Managed to get my first unit finished
-
Looks like you're off to a good start.
-
Beautiful paint work there. Really lovely.
Just a few dozen more and you're away!
-
Kitbashed a ZP turret for my T-34
-
Finished my T-34/ZP. Going for an extremely historically accurate paint scheme

LOL!!! :D ;)
I love that, for me doing/ painting weird war is in a way liberating since the rivet counting faction (that gives you valuable senior input on every wrong color chosen is simple OUT! ;) 8)
Great model idea and execution BTW, better than all official K47 models IMO.
-
Oh, I love that.
And it's got a face!
-
Great start and brilliant color scheme on the tank
-
Great work, figures and tank are first rate, looking forward to seeing more from you!! :)
-
Great work...and inspiration for my future K47 force.
-
Two more units done. Thats all my basic infantry finished (well I still need to cut a base for my LMG guy tomorrow). Now to wait for my heavy infantry, walkers and artillery to arrive
-
Fantastic miniatures all round!
Thanks for sharing

Took some better shots. Patiently waiting for my Dust walkers and other bits and pieces to arrive while my motivation is still high!
-
love those figures you've done

Ah, the "I'm special; shoot me! Shoot me!" paint scheme. lol
I'm warming to those clear bases. They've not been my thing, but looking at those I may just take my odd looking winter Germans on spring bases and have a go at what you did with yours. Those look rather nifty.

I've been wanting to try them for a while, seemed like the time! Pretty pleased with how they blend in to textured surfaces

Painted up some old AT-43 Red Blok Kolossus for use as a pair of Cossack light walkers. They are maybe a touch too small but I've extended the legs slightly to make them a bit less squat
-
Bah, looks all god, nothing is too small. ;)
And all better than the Warlord stuff!
-
Very very nice.
Great painting and presentation.
-
I'm rather fond of those walkers actually. I had totally forgotten that I had a few sitting spare there myself. I may find the justification for making a pair for some Soviets of my own at some point. :)
Though not to slate your own scheme, but I'd go for a white washed scheme. What made you go for the rest? Personally I'd be more into white with massive red decals rather than all red, but that's why I say "personally", and I'm just jumping in here being an ass. ;)
-
Nice work. Keep it going!
I've recently decided to rebase everything on clear. (Got my own laser cutter so it's easy!)
I started with my new Commandos and decided I like them. It stops the grass on the snow or desert in the strret effect!
If you paint the edges something dark/neutral it reduces the pronounced edge effect a little.
-
More great paintwork, I'm enjoying seeing your project progress.

I chose red because I think it sells "weird" war nicely, as its a completely impractical scheme. Plus I like the "Red Army" gag and find red tones easy to paint :)
-
Youth, where did you get your bases?
Rich H., do you have any pics of your bases painted with a neutral tone?

I work for Knights of Dice, so we have plenty of them lying around. We really need to get around to putting them on the webstore
-
You do Youth....because now you are just teasing us.
How do attach the figure with out the glue "crazing" the acrylic?

Bases are now up:http://knightsofdice.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=55_104&zenid=e279a5d71985240fa1bd1c2053de2961 (http://knightsofdice.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=55_104&zenid=e279a5d71985240fa1bd1c2053de2961)
I used small pins in the feet and Zap Canopy Formula 560 glue. The glue dries clear and doesn't fog up. I haven't tried it with heavy metal figures but I'm sure a combo of pin/glue would work out fine
-
Thank you for putting those up...and for the glue advice!
-
Their respective crews are currently still on corks, but these machines are now in glorious commie red!

Started assembling some Daughters of the Motherland, just gotta wait for my AK-47s and other kit to show up to finish em off. Most likely end up replacing them with the offical Daughters as those previews looked pretty great
-
Cracking project! 8) It's always something we fancied getting into, we even bought the robots and troops for a small for force, but never got around to painting enough for a game!

That's not like you :D
