Have tried B&Q but the thinnest they sell is 6mm which is a little chunky for my requirements - basing terrain buildings.
Googling was ineffective, anyone have any other suggestions?

photo frame backing board.... probably from a specialist supplier. And in 2mm normally
-
how big are the buildings/terrain items?
Thick plasticard might do for smaller items (have some that is at least 2mm, maybe 3mm).
If not then maybe use the 6mm MDF, and sand down the edges to take away the huge step, OR for post-industrial revolution buildings, actually use the MDF as the pavement... ;)
