Title: Inflatable WW2 tank shells
Post by: AlyMorrison on 24 October 2016, 01:55:37 PM
This may not be the right place....But it seems as good as any :D
I was given these at the weekend
I think they look great they give you a good but light weight idea of the size of these things
I am not really sure where I will put them...
Maybe if they made an inflatable tank  lol

They do - https://www.alibaba.com/showroom/inflatable-tank-for-sale.html lol

There must still be some of the WW2 ones lying about - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dummy_tank
Also Operation Bertram (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Bertram)

Nice present, but probably best not to have them visible from the street. Likely to get you all sorts of unwelcome attention  :D

edit: added Bertram link

Cool!  I'd be afraid to have these in my wargame room, some of my friends might just start beating me with them (I usually play referee)

When I was attached to a tank regiment we had a blow up T72 that used to be used for a target. Over 25 years ago before computer simulation was around. In my day it was taken around schools in the south of England for Army open days along with a scimitar and a ferret armoured car for the kidds to climb around on

Hmn, I wonder if anyone makes 28mm scale floating barrage balloons? :)
