Title: Dark Skies Weird War 2 Cthulhu Air battles KS
Post by: axabrax on 24 October 2016, 06:30:04 PM
Someone pointed this KS out on another site, and it looks cool.  Interesting choice of scale.  I see the pros as being more opportunity for detail in paint jobs and reusing Flames of War airplane decals and all the 15mm terrain that's out there.  Cons are, well, the models are pretty big, and therefore not as cheap as smaller scales.  I decided to kick in.  Anyone heard of these guys before?

Interesting indeed, but WTF it has to do with the Mythos?  :o

Well, there are at least two star spawn models that come with each faction, so the models are there. ( They are very nice indeed it too)  I havent read the rules yet, but it looks like there will be an eldritch faction and perhaps the  appearance of Cthulhu creatures is also scenario based?  It would've been nice if they had prioritized the Eldritch faction to make sure it happens, however. In terms of WTF, it's a mash-up, right? Why not mash Lovecraft with WW2 fighter combat and diesel punk?  It sounds like a tasty combination to me  and it's no weirder than Syfy Cthulhu or any other mash.

Looks cool, but I fear it'll take a long time to arrive. This year the funding goal is €500, last year it was €22,000.

But I agree with axabrax, not putting the Eldritch faction from the get go seems weird (unless that's the carrot they're using to get funding).
