Does anyone out there (that means you, Helen) know how the MG squadrons in British Cavalry Regiments carried their MGs? I know in the early war they still used British Maxims, is there any chance they used Maxims on wheeled carriages (a la Boer War)? Or were they carried on Pack Horses? Also how were the Hotchkiss Rifles of the later war carried?
Thanks

Vickers were carried the same way on pack horses with special frames etc.
No wheeled mounted maxims o_o

The third segment of the film shows Cavalry MGs coming into action.

Thanks, all.
Helen, you always seem to have found the most amazing info. How do you do it?
Anyhow, it's sort of a moot point unless someone releases pack horses with Vickers / Hotchkiss Rifles on them (like BG's Mountain Gun pack Train.) I just want to cook up something to help differentiate Yeomanry MG sections from Infantry MG sections. Probably I'll just do a loose conversion. Who makes Pack Horses? I've got lots of donkeys and Mules but no Horses.

Hi Scott,
I'm not sure you have been following this thread as indicated below, but if sales are good then expect to see in phase two.. a pack horse mounted vickers:
