A rather short-lived unit consisting of a single battalion of 600 elite grenadiers picked from the Duchy of Warsaw's line infantry regiments and attached to the French Imperial Guard at Napoleon's request. The unit was raised in September 1813 and fought at Leipzig and Hanau, where it suffered heavy casualties. It mustered only 97 officers, NCO's and men by November and was disbanded in December, its survivors being incorporated into the 3rd Eclaireurs de la Garde regiment. Sculpts by Paul Hicks, with a ragged campaign look in mind.

Hi Arthur,
Now these are interesting and tempting!
I will need to find out more about their uniforms though.
Mix of shakos and bearskins for example and how they should be mixed together.
Some help here on uniforms but reckon more needed!

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Arthur,
Thanks for the link!
As to your kind suggestion "The article is in French, but that shouldn't be a problem to you."
I muddle along as best I can as in all things!
Interesting that the link indicates they some/a proportion wore shakos and not bearskins.
Cheers,
Paul
