Title: Miniature ID request (2 Ral partha late 80's, 1 unknown 1980? 88?)

Hi - I have three miniatures that I can't identify and I'm finding it distracting. Two of them are clearly Ral Partha (they seem to have 1989 on the base) - you'd think I could find these in the 1989 or 1990 Ral Partha catalogues, but no. They're made after the time period when I would have recognized almost anything Ral Partha (that would have ended around 1985 / 6 or so). The third figure, most puzzling to me, is what looks like a wyvern, with an "A" on the base, a number (C-25?) and a date (1980?) - I've added a photo of the base. It looks like it should be the kind of base marking that is readily recognizable if you know the manufacturer. I could be reading the date wrong - It's a pretty detailed sculpt for 1980, and that doesn't seem right. Now that I am looking at the photo, it looks more like it could be 1988, and that seems more likely to me. Are these familiar to any of you wizards?

The guy in the center looks familiar...but I think the one I remember had a large plume over his head.  Must be a different figure unless you see evidence of damage.  I'm trying to remember where he was from/name.  It was 20+ years ago.

both of yours have had the plumes removed from their helmets

Thanks - that's obviously why I hadn't noticed them when looking through catalogues - I had never considered that they might have been altered.

Hm. They were visible last night but aren't showing now for me either (which doesn't change much in my case, 'cause I had no idea what they were).

I had to find a new host for them (old one seems to be down), but here they are again - it's only the little wyvern-thing that I'm still wondering about.

Nice call Imp.  I looked at your link and sure enough that's the guy!   lol  One of my very first miniatures I ever bought when I was maybe nine years old (made some custom rules for him for Hero Quest...at age nine!).  Man, maybe this "design games" bug started earlier than I remember.  :-I
