Title: flat side plastic bases in Europe ?
Post by: sundayhero on November 11, 2016, 07:08:10 PM
Hi,

I'm searching for 25mm diameter plastic bases, but the ones with flat sides, like the old wargame factory bases, of the D&D minis bases :

Is there somewhere I can find these ?

thanks

thank you both,

I forgot to explain that I was searching especially for plastic hollow bases, to be able to put a metal washer inside it, for weight. Because the bases will be used for plastic minis.

That's why I cannot use renedra or mdf/acrylic bases.

Why don't you use washers ?
You could combine them with magnets like that:

Because I already have a collection with plastic bases, and I'd like to base all the figures the same way. I'm also a big fan of washers, i'm using them for a lot of my figures already ;)

thank you

edit : but yes, I could rebase the plastic bases figures with metal washers instead... Perhaps the simpliest solution.

Reaper Minis makes hollow round bases with flat sides. My only complaint is they are 4mm tall, which is a bit thick for bases. It's the round RPG bases. They're USA based but ship worldwide, not sure if there's a distributor in the EU

Mantic Games also has round plastic bases. They aren't completely hollow, but mantic figs are usually made with a 15mm integrated base so the plastic bases have a slot for that to fit into that is PERFECT for gluing a rare earth magnet into. The one down side is the top edge is a bit rounded, and the 40mm plastic bases are just discs, no hollow spot

Hi,
if you want, I can send you mine for postage from Germany.

I have a lot of 25mm Wargames Factory bases, I don't plan to use and I'd be really happy to get rid of them, because they are just laying around in my Bases Box and consume a lot of space.

Just tell me how much you need or If you want to take all (reads like a serious prolonged attraction to me) and if you need I have fitting bigger Reaper Bases from the Bones Kickstarter too.
