I've been reading "The White Company" to my son of late and it has put me in mind to try a spot of Lion Rampant. I'd be very surprised if I'm the only one that's thought of portraying the company in miniature - but I can't find anything searching the forum.
Has anybody else tackled this?

Honestly I've only read it the once and I can't remember much about it, except the friendly duel between the crossbowman and the longbowman!

Been years since I read it, but I must admit it has always been one of those "one day" projects in the back of my head. I may have to dig it out and give it another go as I can't remember any specifics about the force composition of the White Company itself.
I do remember there is quite a stirring battle though, as Sir Nigel valiantly defends against superior numbers (Unless that was in the prequel, Sir Nigel.. like I said, its been years...)
I do remember Samkin Aylward the archer carrying a looted bed about with him though.

Like everyone else - apparently. it has been years since I last read the books. But I cannot really remember any details that could be modeled to make them stand out in a medieval army.

I'm only a few chapters in - but the livery seems to be a white surcoat with a red lion.
Painting this at 1/72 may prove impossible.

Thanks for this thread just got both books free in the Kindle store. Looking forward to reading them.

Thought you were talking about the shops selling something useful to wargamers :-[
