Title: Sharp Practice ACW
Post by: Davea on November 24, 2016, 11:20:37 AM
I have played a couple of games of Sharp Practice - AWI and FIW - and I was going to paint up an army for either of those periods - when I remembered I had a tub full of Sash and Saber ACW figures - more than enough to do a army for both sides.

So I dug them out, cleaned them up attached figures to bases and started painting the confederates.

About this time, I remembered I had the Perry Farm House painted - so I based that

It looked okay - resisted repainting it, so bought the store and painted and based it - A funny thing when you use the wrong size font - Hardware becomes Halford - whoops  ::)

I then found I had enough fencing to make a paddock (the pigs I painted for a mate and really should give them to him sometime)

Inspired by how these looked I bought the Barn - and spent a bit more time on it then the previous buildings.

Work in progress on a camp, because I found the bits in a box and thought it would be a good idea.

Hopefully soon I will actually have some painted and based figures to show, if I do not get distracted by more buildings or other random things  :)

Lovely job.  I am just in the process of expanding my North American building collection for Sharp Practice, these are inspiring.  What I like is that most buildings will be great for AWI, 1812 and ACW with a great many for FIW as well.

Nice work. Your paintwork really brings out the character of the buildings.

So I finished work early today, and instead of going out in the yard and doing what I should - I headed into the shed and finished these off - first 4 bases  of Confederates done.

Some attack sheep - which will be used as proxy's for figures I don't have when required, and could even go in the paddock I previously posted a photo of - these were one of those random purchases I seem to make for no apparent reason, when I see some sort of discount - in this case was when Warlord had a postage free offer.

It is hard to photograph sheep - but they do actually look better then photo would suggest.

Lovely stuff so far. You have really added a whole level of character to the buildings. Will follow this thread with interest.
