Hello.
As many others, I am awaiting with great expectation this new ruleset from Osprey Publishing so I am painting some of the many SF figures I have. Here are the first two of them:
The Wandering Trader.
The First Lady.
They are figures from Colony 87; wonderful models with a lot of character I expect to use mainly as NPC in my games.
Cheers!
-
Great painting - these look fantastic.
-
They look really cool! You've done a great job on them both, but I'm a little puzzled by the bases? Could you explain the purpose of their design please?
-
Thanks a lot.
The bases I´m going to use are from Micro Art Studio, Kromlech, etc. I don´t like the common black round bases, and wanted to have some "themed" ones for these figures.
Cheers!
-
Nice brushwork on some lovely figures.

Great stuff. As you say "loads of character" and somewhat reminiscent of "Dune" perhaps? Lovely paint-jobs, and looking forward to seeing more.
-
Thank you very much.
Yes, they have a lot of Dune in them.
Here are the next group:
The Unshaved Tech, another figure from Colony 87.

The Scum. An old figure from "Necromunda" I painted many years ago.

And a picture of some of the bases I have:

I love that Colony Trader figure. Such a shame the KS only had single figures supplied as random selections. Would have picked him up in a shot if he had been available.
-
Cool, love your work. It's a sweet paintjob, particularly the clothes. :-*
-
Thanks a lot, Suber.
More of the figures I have ready for this ruleset.
Corporate Constabulary ready to defend the sacred interest of Capitalism. Figures from Copplestone Castings.

Great figures. This has been a very good news to know Mark Copplestone is sculpting more figures for the North Star oficial range.
Cheers!
-
Nice new additions to the project.

You are certainly on a roll at the moment.
:)

Some lovely painting here 8) 8) 8)

-
Very nice :-*
Interesting to see how many different ranges of minis there will be :)
-
Thanks all of you.
Most of these models were painted time ago, awaiting the right (for me) ruleset... I expect this is such ruleset.
-
Lovely painting!
-
All superb! :-* Kicking myself (again) for not getting in on either of the Colony 87 kickstarters!
-
Great stuff dude :)
-
I had those Copplestone robots earmarked for a Terminator project, but they look really good as robot soldiers, so plans may change. I'm just painting up a couple of Reaper robots at the moment, so joining that unit is a definite possibility.
The Colony 87 stuff is great, painting them up one or two at a time as well.
I have Rogue Stars on order, I'm really hoping it lives up to the build up we're all giving it :D
-
Very cool looking models with a lovely paint job. Really like the tech figure.
I pre ordered the Rogue stars too, but frankly I'm just glad to have any excuse to paint some 15mm sci-fi!
-

Yes, my friend. That is my hope too.
Thank you a lot for your comments. More figures to follow soon!
-
I have more characters for "Rogue Stars"; some of them are old figures I have had in my cabinet for years.
First one, Governor Sharpe, from Colony 87. As a member of the Imperial Service, he wears some purple in his clothes (and some surprises for his enemies too).
The trusted First Secretary of His Highness the Governor. From Colony 87. Also a member of the Imperial Service.
Bad Bot. A nasty present from a long ago extinct alien civilization and now a soldier of fortune. An old model from GW.
Captain Zamora, chief of the Governor´s Security Force. She is a very nice figure from GW.
I must admit I am enjoying a lot the painting of these figures, thinking about their background and possible rol in "Rogue Stars".
Cheers!

More loveliness! :-*
-
Hello!
I have painted a new figure for this theme, and now I have the rulebook to prepare the profiles!
CronoGladiator #1, a Necromunda figure from Games Workshop. He is now out of the Arena business, too old or crippled to offer a good show, but very useful as a henchman for someone.
Cheers!
-
:o
Crono Gladiator is looking awesome!
And so is the governor and his lackey in the previous post! 8)
-
Fabulous stuff, very inspired! :-*
-
Fantastic work on all these figures. The governor is my favourite: nice colour scheme, and the face and cloak look really good.
-
Thanks a lot.
This time, I have my first two North Star Miniatures figures painted for an Star Cops band, a dark one:
A Doranian ex-Space Patrol Police Officer. Now, the "muscle" of the group.
A Vandirian Assasin. Now, the cover actions agent of the group.
Both of these figures have been sculpted by Mark Copplestone and I think they are better than the orginal characters with this profile; they have now better poses and definition.
If I am able to paint two more figures, I will be able to play an scenario, at last!
Cheers!
-
Both of them are fine additioms to your crews!
What kind of terrain you have for a game?
-
I'm going to use a matt and diverse terrain elements. Mainly, a sub-urban landscape.
-
Sharp painting! :)
-
Great painting! :-* I really like your Colony 87 figs! You've done them some great justice!
As much as I've heard of the Rogue Stars kickstarter, I've not seen many games yet. I would have thought North Star would have shown plenty of games in action!
-
First one, Governor Sharpe, from Colony 87.
Oh, wow! I love this figure! So much character and a simply beautiful paint job! :-*
-
And it just keeps on getting better! Really love the Doranian ex-space patrol police officer...my favourite of all the NS figs.
-
You have done a cracking job on all the new additions.
The g
Governor and his Security Adviser are my personal favourites.
:-* :-*
-
So cool! I love all of it :-*
-
Thank you very much all of you.
With the new year I have painted, at last, some of the Lead Adventures Miniatures´ Astropolis range of figures I have. These are wonderful minis, full of character and of a dirt and not too "modern" Science Fiction setting.
I want to use these figures mainly as NPCs in my games, because they are a bit "static" to work as characters of a group, but I expect to use some of them in a more "active" duty.
I have also painted an old Haslefree Miniatures Space Goblin:
He can be a security contractor taking care of the Astropolis landing party...
Cheers!
-
Excellent! Grungy Sci-Fi is certainly my favorite.
Well done.
-
Now I feel the urge to pick up the Astropolis figs as well as the Colony 87 ones! Look forward to seeing your batreps!
-
Hello!
Here is my first band for "Rogue Stars", ready to fight for a good cause, of course. They are Cyborgs with the "Cool under Fire" tactical discipline.
God, the boss (85 XP). This is a figure from Warlord Games.
Morph (35 XP), a grunt in a not very good shape. A figure from Haslefree MIniatures.
Dingo (40 XP), a bit more dangerous chap. From Haslefree Miniatures.
And Scum (38 XP), an old warrior in the wrong war. From Games Workshop.
As I have said, they form a band of Cyborgs in Avalon, the system I am devising to play with this ruleset. In this moment, they are only a group of rogue souls looking for themselves in the middle of bigger affairs...
Cheers!
-
That warlord model is awesome, what range he is?

Yes, he was one of the first "Antares" figures for sale, and one of the best, IMHO.
-
More great stuff! I love how many different miniature ranges are being included here.

Agree. This is one of the best reasons to play a "generic" ruleset.
-
Awesome group of space misfits! :-*
You wrote they are your first group... so when do we get to see the next group? :)
-
I am painting now their opponents. ;)
-
Nice work, Juan.
I like the way you have tied together a bunch of figures from different companies that seem to work really well together.
Morph is my personal favourite from this merry little band.
