Ive been thinking about trying some Superhero miniatures games- are there some good rules sets out there for this? 25-28mm miniatures. Ive seen Crossover Miniatures- super system- but havent read any reviews. Im looking for something not too complicated, but want to be able to represent most common comic superheroes.
Any advice on a rules set?
Any other good superhero minis out there? (besides reaper, crossover)
Any online retailer carry Crossover at a discount?

I am sure others will be along to suggest their favorites. There's a lot of good stuff out there.
Right now we're play-testing Super Mission Force, a Goalsystem fast-play set of superhero miniature rules.

SuperSystem 4th ed. allows you to make just about any character you can dream of, but at the cost of some heavy lifting rules wise.

I think you'll find yourself spoiled for choice in the end!

Wow thank you!!
Is the Super Mission Force a simpler/easier version of SuperSystem?
Are there any reviews of SuperSystems? I havent been able to find an in-depth review.

SMF is an easier / simpler version.
SS has been around for 15 years, so yeah, there's lots of reviews.

Thanks again. Is Super Missions nearing completion? ( a pdf and print form)
I love the Crossover figs with multiple heads as options. I never realized there are so many super figs out there. (reaper, clix, etc)
i saw there is a thread for special dice for these two systems.

Knight Models (http://knightmodels-store.com) has actually four systems:
Batman Miniature Game
Spider-Man Miniature Game
Marvel Universe Miniature Game
and just released the first starter for DC Universe Miniature Game along with profiles for their existing miniatures used in BMG.
The rules for the SMG (although You will need a copy of BMG rules for this) and MUMG and DCUMG can be downloaded from their website.
There is also Pulp City. (http://pulp-city.com/)

Only one I have played is Pulp City and I loved it. GUys i gamed with swear by it as the best for this type of game.
Ive read the Knight Model Rules for DC and Marvel. Didn't think much of them and put them on the shelf never to be seen again.

Knight Models- BMG is way more than I want to spend. Nice game, but not for me.

On the Old Glory site you can find superhero figures.

Power Legions from Ganesha Games is fun, fast, and allows you to build characters.

SMF is nearing completion. Play-tests are going very well and we're finding just a few little niggles here and there that need tweaking.
My timeline for completion and release is mid-January. A lot depends on layout man Joe D.'s schdule.

These are purely optional. The game uses regular six sided dice. The Goalsystem dice Scott-Starter (which you're welcome to pledge into on the thread) is for some luxury dice from Chessex that make counting goals even easier.
Hope this helps!
