Seen this on Yahoo news. Apparently it cost £6.2 Octillion to run a day!!!!! :o Although, they seem to firing and recharging the laser every day!

They could also upload future plans for stations to the Cloud...super secure...don't have to worry about those Bothans.
-
I'm sure they could re-coup some of that cost by hiring out conference room facilities.
lol lol
Funniest thing I've seen all week.
Perhaps a few wedding reception facilities etc as well?
Funerals, christenings etc etc, the possibilities are endless!

No wonder the Imperial officers were so stressed, they were trying to juggle destroying the Rebels with balancing the heating bill and the catering costs.
"Lord Vader, might I suggest we swap Fajita Friday with something a little more.....basic?"
-
Bit of lagging and an insulated door on that exhaust port would have cut their heating bills.
-
Could have converted the main walkway to a wheel and used ewoks to power the death star.
-
More recycling! Less trash compacting!
-
They should've built a Dyson sphere instead, and just get energy from the star within. They would need more material, so the initial outlay would be higher but running costs could be lower - if they used droids to man it with just a core team to manage the place and fire the laser. They could even grow crops on the surface....

lol You beat me to it!

I thought they had been making cut backs such as axing Darth Vader's private dining facilities so he had to go to the canteen like everyone else.

Sounds a bit much, as someone calculated the GGP (Gross Galactic product) to be about $4.6 sextillion a year, and the construction cost of the first Death Star as $852 quadrillion (all in 2012 Dollars)

But you have to factor in all the O, H & S fines they get...
