Lovecraft describes a Shoggoth thus:
"It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway train—a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and un-forming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us, crushing the frantic penguins and slithering over the glistening floor that it and its kind had swept so evilly free of all litter."
He also mentions that, when spherical (e.g. in water) they are about 15 feet in diameter.
So does anyone make a decent Shoggoth that comes even close to this size?

Fenris Games makes the biggest one I can think of. One for their own line, and one they made for Cthulhu Wars.

Dat's big. That's a Hasslefree 28mm for scale.
Colossal Shoggoth. Not sure if they still produce it.

Thanks for the scale comparrison. That beast is probably also the closest to Lovecraft's description :)

I've yet to find a Shoggoth that is big enough for me, I'll probably make my own at some point. It would be more Baneblade sized.

There's got to be a easy way of producing that yourself. Styrofoam cut to shape then spray painted to force pitting on it? or Insulation foam done with the same thing? Then just add some abll bearings of different sizes glued. Coat in paint.

Probably too small, but I think the best Shoggoth is by Fenris for the Cthulhu Wars boardgame. It's the only one I know ofthat is in an attack pose instead of just kinda sitting there as a big blob ;)
