A long, long time ago, like two days ago, in a galaxy far, far away from the galaxy of Star Wars, a man goes into a supermarket and buys, besides the groceries, a Star Wars jedi fighter kit because he has just recently seen Rogue One and the kit is cheap.

Next day he goes to a thrift store and lo and behold! There's almost mint condition Imperial TIE fighters by AMT, so of course man buys it too.

Quite naturally by now man is certain that this is a message from the universe, telling him to start a yet new project about a galaxy far, far away. It seems that I will be soon purchasing Imperial Assault boardgame and its supplements to get some proper minis for little SW themed action. o_o
This thread will follow my very slow progress in the SW universe. To make things easier for myself I will be using some pre-existing terrain meaning all the action will be taking place, yip you guessed it, on a desert planet. Besides the above mentioned kits I have the Bandai 1/48 AT-ST waiting to be built, so plenty of things to do for starters.
Do hop on board and may the Force be with you ;)

Those who can, do. Those who can't lurk and watch.
Oh, and you KNOW I will be doing JUST that! :D

I know but I can blame the lingering after effect of seeing Rogue One, all of this is its fault ;D
And I was even more weak, after reading this:

I went and bought the cheapest TIE Interceptor I could find o_o
And made a pre-order to my friendly local gaming store for the upcoming Imperial Assaul Villain Pack - Captain Terro (okies I ordered two, one will remain as it is, the other goes under the scalpel somewhat).
Now I'm resisting the urge to order the new AT-AT ;D

Just get it, you know you'll regret it if you don't lol

A nice new Star Wars thread. I got a good feeling about this :D
One day I might be venturing this way too.

I have some of those smaller ones waiting a never played floor game, ala 1/72 Blue Max. If anyone has every done this, let me know!

As a mere lurker, far be it from me to tell Poco he should make ANY purchases...
Wuss... :D

There's always room for another Star Wars thread!

Do share some pics of those 1/72 ones?! ;D

Just look at the boxes above...
Okay, I did some paint-and-assembly, but not enough worthy of piccies, ergo the 'lurker' comment. I'm always great on the idea-and-starting, but...
Pathetic, I know. :'(

@Doug: well at least you have a start, so now just continue? I'm the same type, fast to start, slow to finish any projects...
To continue this SW "saga" of mine, here's few Imperial Assault minis I managed to grab and somewhat mutilate. One of the rebel troopers lost his head, another got his arms cut a bit to change the posture. One of the saboteurs also got new head transplant from the FW resin Cadian.

Happily I have help with this project:

As you can see, he's wearing all the proper themed clothing :D
Maybe I will try to paint one or two of these minis later today... o_o

So might have gone bit over board yesterday and bought the Imperial Assault core set, few extra stormtroopers and whatnots to get some conversion material.
Here's a pic of few test subjects. Of rebel troopers one is normal, another has head slightly turned and third has arms in a lower angle. Two of stormtroopers got sliced as well, one has arms in lower angle and one had head turned slightly.

Work continues...

I know... though I haven't ordered the AT-AT yet ;)
Sharp hobby knife is enough for the basic conversions, then maybe a bit of GS to fill any possible gaps etc. I try to get as many as possible different minis on the table, aiming at maybe 12-16 stormtroopers max. The rebels are somewhat easier since they have quite random clothing just like possible third party in form of bounty-hunters.
If I end up using Rogue Stars for this, then it's only 6 minis max per side, even easier that way.
Any suggestions for good skirmish rules set in the SW universe are more than welcome.
