Hello,
I played a solo game of Rogue stars yesterday in an attempt to learn the rules. Between flipping through the rules and trying to play both sides i actually enjoyd the game!

I can see a lot potential and possible expansions for this game.
There are more pictures and text onn my blog: http://figurspel.blogspot.se/

Nice write up. Is there an AI mechanic in the book or did you need to control both sides?

Very interesting AAR. Thank you a lot. This is my idea, to test the game solo.

I try solo on occasion, with little success. Helps a lot to have someone else trying to work it out with you, keeping up momentum when you're flaggin', correcting you when obviously on a bad tack, and then making a dumb comment so you can return the favor.
I admire the strength!
Also, another bit of info on RS, as I've read little so far.
About the Space Demon, he was obvously looking for his preferred meal of Space Marines of a different heritage... lol

Very cool. Who makes the cardstock terrain?

Nice after-action report. I need to get on the stick and get some games in.

You can get the card terrain from battlesystems: http://shop.battlesystems.co.uk/shanty-town-43-p.asp
I have a lot of their fantasy dungeon terrain too, it can be a bit fiddly to set up but it looks good and is rather flexible.

Thanks for the AAR. Did you just play both sides or are you working on a single player version?

Just me trying to play both sides, the goal was to get a better understanding of the rules.

I am planning to try this game, soon, honest o_o I rolled up my groups yesterday, but couldn't quite bring myself to play today.
Anyway, enough self pity. The reason for this is to link to this blogpost (https://dogui.wordpress.com/2010/10/21/solitaire-song-of-blades-and-heroes/) on solo Song of Blades and Heroes.
It's about deciding how many actions to give each figure, and a method of choosing randomly so as not to subconsciously favour one side. It's quite simple, and something I plan to use when (repeats to self "when") I get around to playing. The relevant paragraph (with target number replacing quality rating) is
You take 3 different colored dice and give them a priority rank. For example, I use green, blue and red and consider them in that order. Now you take a 3 sided die, which is usually a d6 with two 1s, two 2s and two 3s or you can simply use a regular d6 considering the following: 1-2, one, 3-4, two, 5-6, three. Roll them all together and the first thing to do is look at the fake d3. This die will tell you the amount of actions the figure is going for. Now check the rest of the dice to see which ones beat the Quality rating of the figure. Be mindful of the priority you gave them
