Currently I am single basing some 6mm figures for games and thought I would make sure I didn't miss a option.
If this belongs else please move it there moderators.
What I currently am using is 15mm circles (LITKO thinnest bases) and similar sized bingo chips (from my deceased Mother-in-Laws estate) for each figure.
Does anyone else single base 6mm figures? What do you use for basing?
It is a esthetics (.8 mm) versus handling (3mm) issue for me. The LITKO 1.5mm thickness has some compromise appeal but I use those a lot for 15mm figures. Comments? Alternatives? Ideas?

I have done some single 6mm for a commission, the customer was in France and sent over small French coins which worked a treat. From memory I think they were 5 centimes but I guess these are rare with the advent of the Euro?

I have used pennies for one or two 6mm command figs. They may be a little big if ll your figs are based separately though.
Pennies are one of the cheapest basing sources out there and I use them a lot for 15mm single figs...

I found some thin magnetic circles from Coritani (http://www.magneticdisplays.co.uk/magnetic-displays/magnets/Mag-Discs-15mm) and used those for a while. These are 15mm in size and dwarf the figures if laid down but worked for me. You do end up picking the figure up though.
I considered getting 3mm thick MDF or ply laser cut to give a thicker base but did not follow this up as up scalled to 2mm ;D

You can get small washers which are useful to stop the teeny models from getting knocked as much during play - these are normally pretty cheap if you buy a bag of them.
The last 6mm project I ever based individually was "travel Space Hulk" and it worked fine.
Waaay back in 40k 3E, I also had 3000pt 40k armies for many factions - all in Epic 6mm scale (so an army of that size typically cost me about £20) because the rules were streamlined enough that it was feasable. I even got as far as getting a scaled-down board too. Sadly the project remains tucked away in the attic, as I was then distracted by other things! Anyway, I planned to use 1" = 1cm as my game scale conversion, and whilst the models were a touch small for this, it meant the bases needed to be 10mm to stay proportional for gameplay purposes, and washers were again the best choice and value I could find.

I use 5p pieces which are smaller than 1p's though the cost is significantly higher ;-)

I've singled base 10mm figures, and preferred using washers (14mm I think) as these had a lot more weight and kept the figure upright. Being thinner was an advantage too.
The weight advantage was a bit surprising, but really made moving the figures easier, as they are so small its quite hard to put them down flat, so having all the mass at the bottom really helps them stand upright.
