Love the WW2/Golden Age Sci Fi aesthetic.  Tell me you'll scratchbuild them a dropship from a 1/48 scale B-17  :) .

Oh my that is a splendid idea I can almost see it already in my mind.. The big radial engines (without the props)  modified as jet turbines...I would keep the ball turret and the big tail fin...

Yeah, definitely something like that.  I'd want a more bulbous fuselage that would taper to the cockpit and tail gun fore and aft.  Massive props to either side (Looking like they are articulated for VTOL) and a ramp into the belly instead of bomb bay doors.  My vision of the craft in a sentence would be; "The B-17, Slave 1, and the Falcon have a three way and this is the love child".
