Let me present the beginning of my new blog about the reconstruction of the battle of Lodi Vecchio of 1239, involving the army of Milan against the citizens of Lodi and their imperial supporters.

The meeting we had last October in Edinburgh was the sparkle which started it all.
You can read about it in the next issue of Wargames Illustrated (n. 352 - February 2017) and in this article by the author of Lion Rampant (and many other excellent rulesets) Daniel Mersey.

Good to come across this, thank you for sharing, and I'll keep watching!

Very interesting read. Would you care to dwell a bit deeper into what exactly your funding went into. I totally agree that historical wargaming has a huge potential in bringing history to a broader mass, and I would very much like to hear more about your project.
Cheers
Erik

Love what you are doing.
You are off to an excellent start.
I plan to follow along.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Erik,
Thank to the funding we organised a roundtable and gaming event at Edinburgh. Wargames Illustrated has published an article on it: http://www.wargamesillustrated.net/gaming-with-history/
Then the funding will help us to organise a display at Salute 2017 and San Marino 2017 based on my research on the Italian crusades. We will post on that on our blog and Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/gamingwithhistory/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
We also have a workshop and a lecture at Edinburgh today on how to use games in academic teaching (information posted on the Facebook group).
get in touch if you have further questions.
Luca

Anything new on this? Would love to see an update!

I played in the game at Salute -- will share photos as soon as I'm done uploading them!

Right, here we go. I was playing on the Imperial side, so most of the shots are from my end of the table.
