Rogue Trader turns thirty this year and I thought it would be worth doing something as a tribute! The plan is that each month I'll play a scenario from the massive Plot Generator. During the month, I'll be building and painting stuff for that scenario. Well, the first figure is here: Titus N. Thomas, expedition security.

You can read more about Mr Thomas here: http://preacherbyday.blogspot.com/2017/01/rt-project-expedition-security.html
Or follow the project here: http://preacherbyday.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Rogue%20Trader%20project
Any guesses for the scenario he's for?

Lovely mini well done.
-
Of the many re-discoveries of Rouge Trader I've seen, misspelled lovingly, this ranks as one of the truest. Yes, a tribute.
My friend that was known as Warboss back to the RT days will HAVE to see this!

Love how "expedition security" carries around sticks of dynamite. :-)

Some critters take more than a shotgun shell to put down! The archaeologists try not to let him get too near the diggings!
-
Great looking figure! I must keep following this and see where it goes. The anni is a great theme to build a project around. Has it really been that long :( ?
-
Yes, thirty years. We're all getting old! And I'm also quite looking forward to a diverse range of scenarios to paint for and to game.
-
He looks awesome :)
great conversion and paint job
-
Awesome idea, great mini. I have kicked around rolling on the 'ole Rogue Trader generator myself ;)
-
Very cool.
Although he needs a cigar to light the dynamite!
The other figures on the blog look good too. I remember having that servitor scribe, but sold it years ago..... silly boy.
-
Beautiful PJ on the minis and a great idea for the project, will follow your adventures in the RT era :)
-
Thirty years now? I am old...
Great figure, with a wonderful painting work.

Yes, a cigar would complete him very nicely!
I love that servitor figure, and the Inquistion range that he's from is one of my favourites.

I think you nailed what you were looking for. Looks great and the colours are a total win.

This thread needs a "like button". Great paint work!

January has been and gone, and so has the first game for my Rogue Trader commemorative project. A beauty it was too!
Here's the scenario.
An overview of the table.
The natives converging.
The defenders, buying time for the explorers.
The explorers cracking into the time capsule.
And a slight complication (not the last one, either!)

There's a full report over on my blog if you're that way inclined! http://preacherbyday.blogspot.com/2017/02/rt-project-time-to-die-pulp-alley-game.html (http://preacherbyday.blogspot.com/2017/02/rt-project-time-to-die-pulp-alley-game.html)

Great battle report. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Very cool!
-
Wow! So awesome! :-* :-* :-*
-
Cool stuff my Rogue Trader games never looked that cool in the late 80s
-
Beautifully painted collection of minis and terrain, thanks for posting. Inspirational stuff.
Still love your walls too.

Glad you all like it!
Still love your walls too.
Thanks, they're definitely one of the most versatile things I've made.
-
Great work, thanks for sharing.
I look forward to reading about game 2. :)
-
Great report. How do you find the pulp alley solo rules? Do the cards guide both forces or just the opponent?
-
Thanks dijit! I really enjoyed the solo rules. The player controls 'their' force, the opposition have a few rules to guide the way the player uses them. (See here: http://pulpalley.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=1837 (http://pulpalley.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=1837))
The cards then mix things up so you're never quite sure how things are going to pan out. Characters encounter perils, can't shoot, gain bonuses for different skills, etc.
-
Super sounds great.
-
Thanks for this thread. I'm super interested in those solo rules. Need to get a copy of Pulp Alley, it seems.

They have given me and my kids and my gaming group countless great games. If you're after something fast and fun, not super detailed, they are fantastic!
-
Glad you are enjoying the Pulp Alley Solo rules. It took Dad a few years to finally design solo rules that he was completly happy with, and I think it really nail it! ;)

Eagerly awaiting February's installment!
-
Setting it up tonight!
-
blacksoilbill, really AWESOME game and figures and everything! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Nice to see a classical setting like RT receiving a fresh blood with the clever PA rules! ;)
-
Phew, well I've finally gotten around to posting up the February game. Another cracker!
This time it's a scenario from the 'New Worlds' section of the plot generator.
I've changed the scenario a little bit: chaos cultists instead of aliens: I don't have the alien gear for this kind of a scenario, but I do have a decent collection of chaos cult stuff. Here's the idea:
A Lamenter ship picked up signs of life on a planet previously though to be abandoned. Scouts have been sent to the surface of the planet to investigate. They discover an extensive network of underground facilities. The scouts are instructed to attack and do as much damage as possible as they wait for their marines to deploy.
Lots of juicy targets!

The scouts are go!
It all went pretty well until the robot came out to play!

Edit: wrong link, sorry! The report for the game is on the blog: http://preacherbyday.blogspot.com/2017/03/rt-project-maximum-havoc-pulp-alley-game.html (http://preacherbyday.blogspot.com/2017/03/rt-project-maximum-havoc-pulp-alley-game.html)

Sounds like another fun and characterful game.
I'd love it if GW did a Kill Team game with these sorts of scenarios.
-
These reports are great, I'm really enjoying them.
-
Thanks guys! They certainly have been fun to play. And yes, it would be great if GW put their considerable resources behind a game like this. Still, Pulp Alley works a treat, so I'm pretty happy.
-
Corrected the link above so it takes you to the actual game, not just the background!
-
Wow! Great looking Pulp Alley battle report. :-* :-*

Glad you are enjoying Pulp Alley! I hope we get to see more of your games.

Fantastic! Your terrain and figures look amazing. ;)
THANKS for playing and sharing Pulp Alley. :D
