Hi all,
Here is the painted version of the whale carcass made for DeepWars. It was done with multiple washes and glazes of inks. I'll post some steps soon. The model is 240mm long.
The tail orientation was brought up before, but the tail of decomposing whales will rotate and fall to the seafloor. Fresh whales carcasses would have a tail standing up but that is not what was made here.

Certainly doesn't look fresh to me!
Nice work there. Normally when painting creatures, I like to search online for some reference pictures - less of an attractive strategy in this case though (although technology has luckily not yet achieved methods to transfer smell).

I have been searching Hi and Lo for an actual whale like that. Unkilled though.
The killed one is nice though.
