A review of Fantasy Flight Games Fury of Dracula is now up on my blod along with a comparison of and link to my review of 2nd edition.
I find the latest version superior, many of my issues with 2nd edition have been fixed - combat and train travel for instance is now less random. There are also some really good additional tweaks such as dividing the map into regions that along with Mina Harkers special power speeds the game up and makes it a bit harder to play as Dracula.
Check my blog for the review of the third edition along with a link to the second edition:

I've still got my original version circa late 1980s. :D
The changes and updates to the rules sound sensible. I would certainly invest in this if I didn't have the original. :)

Curse you, I'm trying soooo hard to resist reading your review but I'm weakening rapidly. I've been tempted buy this for a while to replace my heavily battle damaged copy of the 2nd edition. No doubt I'll give in to temptation eventually, I always do ::)

You could always sell your 1st edition and buy 2 copies of the new version. I've seen the 1st edition sell for £80+ on Ebay several times.

No chance, nostalgia will get the better of me. I have very fond memories of playing this over the years and every now and then it comes out for a timely reminder. :)

I got this for Christmas and can concur that it is really good fun.
Have played 2 games already and the second game went much smoother with lots of tactics being developed by the hunters.

Go on Nick you know you want it...

An absolute classic and the third edition is probably the best one yet (although I do love the oroginal)
Get it whilst you can. Since GW and FFG went their separate ways there is no guarantees we will see a new printing as far as I know.

One of the great games from back when Games Workshop made the best!

I've never played the game, but always thought it looked so intriguing.
Very good review.

Very nice review, a hit straight to the point, thank you very much! ;)

BTW: If someone wants to buy the game (and every Gothic Horror fan SHOULD BUY IT), act FAST, because according to the FFG site, their partnership with GW is over, and the game will sadly no longer be available for sale beginning February 28th, 2017:

Games Workshop own Dracula!! The bastards!! Is there anything they haven't sunk their fangs into? :o

Is 2nd Edition really that bad? I bought it on a whim to increase my boardgame collection, it's still in shrinkwrap 5 years later.

argh, GW will take it back, triple the price and destroy it all....
