Title: 1898, Cuba (Spanish Colonial infantry)
Post by: Heresy on 23 January 2017, 08:17:25 PM
Hi,

I have recently painted some of the amazing 28mm miniatures from the new company 1898 miniatures (http://www.1898miniaturas.com/) which produces Spanish Colonial infantry (at the moment only for Cuba, but soon for Philippines; beside some Spanish enemies such as "tagalos"). The sculpts are really ncie, specially the faces. To paint the "rayadillo" uniform I have followed the fantastic painting guide this guys have published in their website.

Great looking figures.
I have always wondered how to paint Spanish uniforms for this period.
I need to look no more.
Thanks for sharing.

Insane painting!

Recently saw a movie here in Spain "Los ultimos de Filipinas"... which was a really good flick. Essentially 50 Spanish soldiers held out in a mission for over 300 days.

This was known as The Siege of Baler (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Baler).

Superb...some, if no the best, figures I've ever seen painted.

I have ordered the entire Spanish set and looking forward to getting them. You should contact the manufacturers and get these pictures put them on their website - your figures are peerless.
