Title: [Photographing] Setting up, snapping pics and everything else
Post by: StreetBushido on January 24, 2017, 08:03:15 AM
I've read a few articles on photographing minis and how to set up your photo session, but I'm currently looking for further input and advice.

There are plenty of nice pictures of various creations on here, so I'm hoping a few experts can weigh in.

Also, a long while back I found an article on how to build your own... photo box? The technical term eludes me, but basically a box with a sloping background that just needs a miniature and some lights to go. However, I can't for the life of me find it again. Any ideas?

How do you go about taking good pictures of small things? How do you set up your photo session? Do you do any editing afterwards?

Thanks for reading!

I am still using the methods Tom described here:
http://www.twfigurines.de/main/workshop/photos.htm

Recently I used different backdrops, but all in all that's it.

As far as editing is concerned, I use Photoshop a bit.
Auto Levels, that is then faded to the amount I like.
The initial pic is mostly one time Despeckled and then scaled down to 72 dpi.
