Title: Looking for 15mm Conquistadors and Mesoamericans
Post by: JayOBedlam on 31 January 2017, 02:25:01 AM
As the title says, I'm looking to pick up some 15mm Conquistadors and Mesoamericans (primarily Aztecs and Mayans) and would love some info about the best ranges. I'm based in the U.K. and would prefer to buy locally, but lots of the ranges available here have very limited pictures available to see what you are purchasing. What ranges can you guys recommend - pictures will be much appreciated!

There are a lot of photos of painted 15mm Minifig 2nd generation Incas on this thread. I'm sure the 3rd gen figures are even nicer:

Thanks!

Seems like I can find a lot of good options for the Mesoamerican, Conquistadors are a bit harder...

Black Hat miniatures and Tin Soldier both seem to have good, cheap, ranges in the U.K.

Any opinions on these two?

I think  these were the Grumpy minis, nice figures, also eureka minis to Amazonian Indians in 15mm which would fit in for forest tribes etc

God I wish Khurasan would get a proper UK supplier!

I've ordered some of the Tin Soldier UK Conquistadors, I'll let you all know how they turn out.

Thanks for that link - got any pictures of the minis? I hate buying sight unseen, but so many 15mm sites seem to not have pictures up...

In other news, I can highly recommend the Tin Soldier UK Conquistadors. They arrived within 48 hours of ordering and are great little minis, lots of character for such small figures.

Khurusan look like the best out there.
I've come to the conclusion I'm going to put in a big order this year and take the postage & possible customs as it comes. Just waiting for his 16th century English to be available...

Grumpy do 15mm Portuguese who would work, there were available in the UK from East Riding Miniatures, but looking on the site it seems they are no longer stocked, so Eureka possibly the only source now.

So, something I've not been able to find - Aztec atlatl throwers. Anyone know where I can find these? Black Hat have Mixtec / Zapotec atlatl throwers but I'd prefer to have actual Aztecs if I can find em :D

Any of those Naismith ones stating throwing dart will be atlatl armed.

Google-fu turned this up:  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15mm-Naismith-Design-Aztec-Miniatures-Unpainted-Central-America-Miniatures-List1-/222003428797

Can't find any pictures of Aztecs that are definitely Naismith.  I'll see if I can photo mine.

Most of my Aztecs are by Gladiator and my Conquistadors are Essex.  I have a 37-picture gallery accompanied by a write-up of what I used that can be seen at www.warin15mm.com/Aztec-Gallery.html
