Hello collective brain.
Looking to get some British dragoons in bicorn for my Peninsular War force. Have found a few manufactures on line, with some ropey pictures in some cases, but only seen one company's product in the flesh so was looking for comments, suggestions, other manufacturers etc.
Would prefer bicorns being worn fore and aft as I believe this was more likely when on campaign.
Those manufacturers I have found with figures in this configuration are:
Redoubt
Front Rank
Elite
Brigade Games (although mould currently being repaired apparently)
Manufacturers with bicorns worn transversely:
Eagle
MiniFigs
Any comments, reviews welcomed.
Thanks
Tony.

You've forgotten the old Foundry figures sculpted by the Perry twins in the early 1990's:

Not sure the old Redoubt range is still available, which may not be a great loss as I've always heard the figures were pretty awful. My personal favourites among the ones you listed would probably be the Brigade Games figures which are very nice Paul Hicks sculpts. That said, I'd be very surprised if Alan Perry didn't add more Peninsular British cavalry to the Perry Napoleonic range in the fullness of time - he's already done the light dragoons in plastic.

Front Rank are nice figures - and sold individually, too, so you never have left over figures, no matter what your unit size is.

I would vote for Front Rank as well, lovely sculpts. ;D
Not to everybodies taste mind you as the poses can be quite static. I think they certainly top the Elite, Eagle, minifgs and Redoubt ones.

Would go with Elite as like the sense of movement and they fit my mental image of the napoleonic period. Horses for courses though.
-
I've painted quite a few Front Rank Napoleonics (though not dragoons, curiously enough) and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
-
I have the old Victrix figs now with Brigade? They look great and paint well. Not a fan of separate sword arms personally though.
Most of my figs are generally Front Rank, another fan here :)

Front Rank, Nuff said.

Yup, go for Front Rank.

Thanks all.
