Still not a huge fan of Pulp Figures style, but the painting is great, and the Copplestone and Statuesque girls are just perfect 8)

Yep, trying to avoid duplicates so a Statuesque hand and shotgun instead of the original pistol. Done a couple of head swaps too with Mr Rae's heads on Copplestone bodies and they work really well imo.

Post by: Dags on 29 July 2017, 10:25:49 AM: First up this week a few tweaks to a second set of Tin Shed's scouts; a couple of re-angled arms, Statuesque weapons hands instead of the poles/tools provided (they're a tad big for the kids but I can live with them) and a standard bearer - a little more work here, removing the original pole and drilling out th hands (pole and finial from, I thinks, Bicorne - I've got a pack of them that's been in the bits box for years) - I'll add a flag later... if anyone's got a source for something printable that I can colour in please shout out!

Quite easy... Base coat 50/50 black and Scalecolor deep blue. Then just keep adding small amounts of the lighter Scalecolor blues to the mix and finally a drop of VMC Stone Grey for the final highlight.

Trick is a big, very soft, quality brush, washing up liquid added liberally to the mix and very light dry brushing. I spent about £25 on one a few years back and it has easily paid for itself :)

It took me an ice age to realise you'd taken the spare off!

There is a similar unreleased version to make a four wheeled generic race car. But it seemed a little cheeky to release it , as its been made from the three wheeler master.

All that aside its a really fun scheme.

Drilled a hole right through the (metal) rear wheel and it sits on a pin attached on the base. It isn't permanently fixed yet and I'm in two minds whether to glue it down..... *think* it will be strong enough but not sure I want to take the risk ???

Scale is, as with a lot of die casts, all over the shop with the MoYY range - 'Box Scale' - most, imo, are too small but this one fits in just grand.

This one here, which if I'm not mistaken is a 1906 Silver Ghost is about 1/51, but models in the range go from 1/34 to 1/130 scale. Though, this is somewhat relative as the same chassis is used for various model.

Anyway, what you've achieved with this one is pretty impressive. I would not have guessed they can be made to look that good just with a paint job and no significant conversion.

Just one note though. It's not a criticism! (just bum's me a bit when I see what a good job your making of the range)
The twins car isn't put together as I originally intended. I think you copied the raw model on the website.
That's where you've been lead astray . Mick constructed it (ancients are his thing) .
The front wheels are too far back there should be more spring arm in front of the radiator.
Both figures were intended to be in the front seats . In fact its supposed to be right hand drive.( the figures have ridges in their backs that correspond with the seating)
It's not a biggy. It still looks good. It's just their best fit,is a slightly different set up.

I never bother with a total repaint, just a bit of weathering, as it i so much quicker.
This does show how much difference a proper job makes, though.

Had an absolute blast painting up this 'collection' and will continue to do so as I finish off the Pulp lead mountain but there are other projects that are taking a front seat this year and I'll be putting these up for sale as I sort through them and put them into appropriate packs.
