Well then! Not completely finished, but close enough, and finally leaving the "lump of stuff to be ashamed of"-stage, so I thought IŽd show some pics.
The castle is constructed from cardboard, foamboard, styrofoam, balsa wood, corrugated card, and two cast doors. All roofs except for the wall roofs are removable, as are the outer wall sections of the triple building opposed to the Donjon, which itself is mere "looks", ie not playable, in order to reduce the number of "distractions" (ie floors on which the Commandos might lose themselves... :D
IŽm still working on a pedestal, a wooden bridge and a guard post, as well as some interior decor and the scenario objectives.
The castle measures some 90x40cm/36x18" and has been left blank of too "period-specific" ornaments to allow it to be used in a variety of settings (me being a Zenda fan for some decades now... :D). In this case, IŽll add some separate building (currently considering a chapel) to cover the burn marks.

What are the three circles in the front courtyard? A rocket launch pad?

The scorched remains of the last three miniature commandos who tried to infiltrate Schloss Gefliegentersaucen.

ROFLMAO! Wonderful!
It is indeed a landing pad... for a certain flying fedora of doom.

IŽm reluctant to do some before I also get the interior decor done (the lab stuff is currently on the paintbench), but hereŽs a pic combining a scale shot (with a BAM 28mm fig) and a look into the most important interior rooms:

IŽll still do some painting "cleanup", though.

Outstanding. In addition to "Where Eagles Dare" type fun (you need to get a Clint Eastwood figure wielding an MP40 in each hand) this could be great for that swashbuckling game that everyone's always talking about.
You know the one. I forget what it's called. Written by that American chap. What's his name again?
-
Great!!! It somehow reminds me of the Wartburg?
-
How do I get to game on that superb piece of terrain? :D
(edit: how did I get a b mixed up with a p???)
-
Great!!! It somehow reminds me of the Wartburg?
I actually based it on several castles from "Mitteldeutschland" (what is nowadays the "Neue Bundesländer", ie ex-GDR), both the Wartburg and Burg Falkenstein/Harz being the prime inspiration, especially for the combination of walls and timberwork superstructure.
How do I get to game on that superp piece of terrain? :D
Well, I seem to recall you were busy on the weekend in question, but IŽll be offering participation games at Tactica on 24th and 25th of February. IŽm aiming for two games a day (or even three on saturday, if time allows).
-
really looking forward to the Tactica for a "live view"
and I think I can connect the three depressions there with rumors about a hushed up "Project ST" ;)

Darn.... Well, I'll just have to wait for the - hopefully many - pictures of said sessions

``Ich werd bekloppt ``` you a genius :o

I didnŽt want to include too many "spoilers", but hereŽs two views of the furnished laboratory (ground floor will be filled with doomsday devices and more viscious stuff).

I love that chalkboard.
It's one of the things that is always missing from a good mad-scientist's lab.
-
OK what is the price
-
Wow!! That really is a work of art!
Yes, what's the price!?! PM bitte
-
Really, really nice. Had I only the time (and patience)..... :o
-
The time is the problem :?
-
That is just spectacular, Chris! I mean, really top notch. I would love to have such beautiful and detailed terrain to run games on.
And that chalkboard is great!
