Title: 15mm WWII Armoured Rules - whats out there?
Post by: Lord GreyWolf on 13 February 2017, 02:24:48 AM
I have a collection of tanks for the kids and me to use in battles.

Daughter want's a game so she can play Girls Und Panzer
Son want's a game that plays like World of Tanks

me I want something that is K.I.S.S but has some depth to it. whether that is through random event cards, etc

But most of all I NEED rules for the Maus Tank. [I got a Maus from Forged in battle an awesome xmas pressy from the kids]

So any one got any ideas on what we could use?

Cheers

I had looked at those rules quite a few years ago when the kids were a lot younger might be an option to revisit them... thx for the input.

Up until you mentioned the Maus, I thought you were looking for GF9's Tanks.  It's otherwise perfect for what you described.  There's even a group at my FLGS that uses it for Girls und Panzer.  It's a decidedly light tank game that is perfect for quick games with my 12yo.

we own the tanks rules and have played it quite a bit but are looking for something that offers stats and rules for the rare tanks [eg Maus]

as that was used in the GuP...

I am about to order the decal set for GuP from ComapnyB just need to work out how many sheets I need.

did you modify the rules to play tanks? eg the commander cards wouldn't really suit the characters from that series.

Bolt Action works very nice w/ their Tank War rules at 15mm.

The Maus isn't listed in rules very often,  however I had a very satisfactory game where we modelled it as an Ogre,  with incremental damage to the running gear and weapons systems.  BKC  would work fine for that.

It would be rather dull to play in a realistic fashion: drives 100 metres,  bogs down then blows up spectacularly from multiple shots to the rear.

true but dam the mini is nice and its huge.... i am playing against my 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter....

My Daughter wants a mixed force taken from different nations [eg Ooarai Girls High School | Girls und Panzer]

Can it be done with BKC?

It is one of the additional books (also came in a box set with the mini rules, three M4s and two Panthers).

Adds more detailed crews and vehicle kit, and a vehicle rather than infantry orientated reinforced platoon (a command vehicle and two other vehicles makes up the minimum "platoon").

There is character building involved, so if you and yours are happy with Bolt Action then it is perfect.

Plus at 15mm and centimeter ground scale, you can play in a two foot by two foot square.

For 15mm WW2 at the company / Battle group level then Battle Front from Fire and Fury every time.

However, a Maus tank takes you into either a very rare scenario or weir wars territory - can't help you there.

I'm not playing with the GuP group, but will ask.  I'm working on building out Oddball's platoon, though, and plan to use existing upgrade cards/points values and just changing the flavor text to be more appropriate.
