Title: Callum, Aiden and Grandad's Zombie Apocalypse - cars from poundland
Post by: dadlamassu on 17 February 2017, 01:21:07 PM
We needed some terrain pieces and started out with some cars.  A look in Poundland cost Grandad £4 for a police car, a tractor and 2 sets of 3 police cars (8 vehicles).  The police car and tractor needed practically no work and a  few hours work was needed on the triple packs taking them apart, "damaging" them, painting and building them back up.

Police car:

Tractor:

Not brilliant but poundland (or similar) is worth a look.

I need to find a Poundland that sells that tractor!

I love the Poundland car packs. I've converted mine into burnt out shells, but yours look really nice in colour.

Also is that female survivor carrying Project Z rules? lol

That was the original idea but I could not duplicate the cover at that size.  We use her as a High Value Victory Point for some Rescue Scenarios as she is carrying vital information.

I have them too - just not done anything with them yet!

I have always fancied something like the Poundland £10 challenge... how much scenery could you build with a budget of £10 and a trip to a pound store?

Rules would need to be agreed - glues and tools not in budget, but what about bases or small decorativr bits, but that sort of thing. Never quite got round to feeling inspired enough to organise anything!

Excellent stuff, as a fellow pound raider I can appreciate the thought that goes into these builds. I too have the tractor and same as you just muddied it up.
Like the £10 challenge idea, get it set up.

Those wrecks look excellent and a bargain to boot!  I would have paid $8cdn just to get a tractor like that.

I've always been skeptical about budget terrain competitions.  I'm always looking for a bargain but not to a point where the quality of the resulting project suffers for anything but my own failings as a maker.  Cheap is good but good is better.  A while back there was a, "terrain on a budget" thread on the Frostgrave Tales thread.  I forget the budget but the pieces the author made turned out very well.

Sorry I know this is your thread but just thought I'd let you know pound shops have some helicopters in that are a good scale.
