Title: The Short, Fat Red Line
Post by: JollyBob on 27 February 2009, 09:48:22 AM
Hi all.

I don't do much fantasy stuff anymore, but I couldn't resist these guys.

The Mootland 24th Regiment of (Hairy) Foot, resplendent under their banner proclaiming the ancent battle cry of their people, "Cake Or Death".

Figures are the new Shattered Isles militia from Black Hat. All C&C welcome as usual.

Cheers!  :)

A strange choice of figures for a regiment.
Is that a mobile phone I see ???
What game are you going to use these for?
Great faces, very full of character.
Napoleon is brilliant.

Thanks guys.  :)

They're not for a game Mac, I just like painting. And yes, there are one or two touches that are definitely not fantasy, but that just makes them funnier in my opinion.

Maybe they should be called the Halfling re-enactment society.
With some members not being as committed as the others.
and I am sure somebody around here could come up with a suitable game for them.

Hmmm....

I might get some of these for Flintloque.
They are otherwise awesome miniatures!

The phone is a nice touch, but I'd probably turn it into a pipe or something. ;D

Very nice work JB.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool historicals man, but I must admit, I do have a soft spot for hobbits, and these are particularly fine specimens.

(Although if I was being deeply uncharitable - not like me at all, I know - I'd have to say that there is a slightly hobbit-like look to quite a lot of Mark Sims' output).

Nice looking little group though.  Bags of character :)

Thank you very much, everyone.  :)

I decided to change the banner as I wasn't really happy with it, and after some advice from Frothers came up with this one:

Much improved, I think, although still not perfect.
