Title: Tanatus Saxons
Post by: si2 on 24 February 2017, 11:14:43 AM: I bought and painted these up for a recent SAGA CAMPAIGN as Anglo Saxons. I decided on a vaguely Christian theme of cross shields and a mainly monochromatic colour scheme. Mainly to reduce the pondering time.
IN the actual campaign, they did poorly, but Anglo Saxons don't seem that suited to fighting in four point groups as driven by AoTW.
I'll be finishing them off with a few units of archer levy during the Spring. I'm in Frugal February at the moment, so no purchases for another four days....

I don't know why it has never occured to me to dirty up the end of the spears. It makes perfect sense. Consider that idea stolen. I am going to do that from now on, perhaps I will even have to go back and dirty some of my already painted spears.

All their board actions require large units

Gutted as well that no-one is selling them anymore, so I couldn't complete a SAGA warband. Dropping you a PM and we shall see if we can work something out :)
