I'm just finishing several boxes of Italeri WW II German but what to do with so many prone figures?
Well I've made some snipers...
I've also got an Artillery FOO
I went with the standard MG34 prone gunner
And I've still got two left grrrrr...
Alright how about using them with a Granatwerfer 36 on a base and have a kneeling figure on a separate base that can be a number two or when no mortar is required can be a regular Soldat...saves buying a specialised figure and using up the last of my prone figures which as above I find them very limiting for gaming!
I got my 1/6 Dragon 5cm Granatwerfer 36 and scaled it down to make one with some styrene, pins and brass tube...far from perfect but this will be fine or gaming purposes...

I built a second one...

A bit of paint (to the best of my ability!) and...

Nice work! Looks the part and the basing is rather clever.

I agree, very nicely done.

Nice!

They look nice, the basing is an interesting way of dealing with multiple figure bases, excellent stuff :)
-
Very good, and clever basing.

Thanks for the comments guys!
One of them hit the tabletop last night in a game of TW&T, France 1940...it ran out of ammo after two fires :( !
Also of note is this mortar didn't have a smoke round...what clown at OKW signed off on that!

I believe he may have been related to the chap from the Royal Ordnance that neglected to provide HE rounds for the 2pdr.
