This has got to be the best Cthulhu I have ever seen either sculpted or in artwork. WOW
Hope the artist doesn't mind me posting it here. Will remove it if there is a problem.
Cthulhu by Shaungent from Deviantart website.

I wish I had sculpted this beauty!!! And I wish he had managed to cast some copies!!!

Awesome!
-
Fantastically Gribbly. I love the squidy-elephantish face.
-
Sweet mother of Azathoth!! PLEASE CAST THIS BABY!!!
-
Amazing sculpt indeed.
Now, what's the status on Cthulhu and mythos type stuff? Open license?

That is an amazing sculpt.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, Lovecraft died in 1937, so should be a yes.

Speechless..... :o

It would seem wrong to call it beautiful and being otherwise lost for words instead I'll use use Charles II's description of St Paul's Cathedral to describe it "awful, pompous and artificial" - And I mean it like Charles II said it and not in how that description sounds today. If I had a hat I would take it off to that artist.

I'd sell my sanity for that any day (if I still had it >.>) :o!
-
Excellent! :-*

It is an excellent sculpt! I would love to own one if it were cast in metal (or even resin).

It really is a stunning sculpt. Agree with everyone else, would be great if it was cast up. I hope it inspires RAFM to redo the great Cthulhu at the very least.
-
Fantastic! :o

That is the best representation I have seen in any medium. I lost a Sanity Point drooling over it just now.
If I were a rich man, I would have to have that reproduced on a large scale and put into one of the many ponds on the estate, on a strange little island with odd structures that should not exist. You know, the sort where the geometry is all wrong somehow. Just think what a lovely green verdegris would come over that in bronze over a decade or two! I can hear AuntieRhino asking the butler where her husband is and him responding that he is rowing over to Rlyeh for his morning sanity-blasting experience, and cleaning off the bird dung.
I suppose it would attract all sorts of folks in their Snuggies, however, to pay homage. That might be worse than even the worst of hippie infestations.

WOW! What a great sculpt! Love the wings and all the spirals...one of the best Cthulhu models I have ever seen! Hope to see it painted before to long...?
-
That is absolutely stunning! I'd love to have one.

The fact that this sculpt is amazing is without question. I'm curious, though - and a little horrified - as to why the uncanny resemblance to my ex-wife isn't more surprising. Does the sculptor know that heartless, evil harpy?
-
>:D. Your ex, eh?
Well that's kinda like me after someone wakes me up when I'm trying to sleep after not having done so for a few days. Even more so with these mangy-curly things dangling off my head.
-
That is by far the best Cthulhu sculpt I've ever seen.
